Appliance 365 - home appliances shop
Appliance 365 is fresh online shop offering truly fantastic prices on a portfolio of kitchen appliances including built-in ovens, hobs, cooker hoods, wine coolers, range cookers and so on.
I got particularly hooked on this project due to the value for money that Appliance365 was able to offer. Thanks to optimized shopping solution I created, appliance365 is able to sell to retail customers for wholesale prices.
How is it possible to offer wholesale prices on appliances to retail customers?
It is possible because everything is optimized. From adding and updating products to management of orders, customers and interactions. Built in a single easy to use online application available everywhere.
The solution was built with the following features in mind:
- Highly usable, so that any newbie in business can sit down and use the application with no learning curve whatsoever
- Taking orders, generating invoices, packing slips and shipping labels needs to be fully automated process with no human input needed
- Add a new professionally looking fully fledged product specification should take a person with no special training less than 3 minutes
- Shop needs to allow customers to track status of their orders if they setup an account
- Managing inventory in the shop scattered through multiple warehouses needs to be fully automated to allow selling trough multiple channels and keep the exact stock numbers in 1 single place

- Automated credit card payments and billing notifications
- Management of users and user groups such as staff, administrators, distributors and suppliers

Powered wholly by Python and C/C++, using awesome xlrd, Crypto, docutils, Python Imaging Library and Django web framework with Satchmo for models/views. Nginx frontend server, WSGI backend servers, memcached and MySQL.
XHTML 1.0 strict, hackfree CSS and awesome JQuery library for easy-to use crispy interfaces. Custom built enhanced WYM editor.
